Moving Into Mindfulness

The Vitality Center at Vail Mountain Lodge is hosting a special Moving into Mindfulness yoga and meditation event on Friday, April 20th starting at 5 p.m. for just $10 per person! Led by passionate yoga teacher Lindsea Stowe, this 90-minute slow flow Vinyasa session is dedicated to embodiment and is designed with intentional movement and space to connect with breath. The holiday season can be extra busy and sometimes stressful, so it’s the perfect time to engage in mindful practices like yoga and meditation. Yoga director at the Vail Vitality Center, Karen Anderson, learned to meditate in a 30-day silent retreat in India. She was with a Tibetan Buddhist group from Colorado, and she says the retreat changed her life. Generally, I chafe a little at terms like “yoga for athletes” since I believe all yoga is good for all athletes. In the case of cyclists I make an exception and here’s why: cycling, as a sport, inherently imbalances the body.
